Milton Keynes, UK – September 13, 2019 – AFL Hyperscale associates took time out of their working day to take part in Willen Sports Day, raising vital funds for Willen Hospice, a local charity that provides specialist care for those with life-limiting illnesses.
The team of budding athletes, made up of members of Sales, Human Resources, and Solution Engineering, limbered up in an energetic warm up before competing in traditional British sports day events such as the Egg & Spoon Race, the Welly Throw and the Tug of War.
“Whilst Team AFL Hyperscale didn’t take home the trophy, we had a great day,” commented Jo Paton, HR & EHS Advisor and Team Captain. “We raised a fantastic £210.00 for this vital local charity…plus, there is always next year!”
“What an amazing set of teams we had at our Sports Day,” remarked Amy Shaw, Senior Corporate Development Fundraiser at Willen Hospice. “They navigated obstacle courses with eggs precariously balanced, flew baguettes around our French-inspired relay race, and raised over £1,000.”
The specialist doctors and nurses at Willen Hospice have been caring for local families for almost 40 years, providing residential and at-home care, patient and family services and bereavement support. All the services they provide are completely free of charge, touching the lives of thousands of people every year.
