In a remarkable display of bravery and community support, Daniel, Joanne, Tracy, Kevin, Kim, Kirsty, Ashleigh, and Brian participated in the exhilarating MK SNAP Dragon’s Firewalk 2023 charity event. The event, held on September 15th, invited participants to conquer mind over matter and walk on fire, all while raising funds for adults with learning disabilities in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
The Dragon’s Firewalk, which is part of the MK SNAP Fire Festival 2023, brought together fundraisers, their families, and supporters for an unforgettable evening. The event was organized by MK SNAP (Special Needs Advancement Project), a local organization dedicated to providing opportunities and support for individuals with special needs.
Participants braved scorching coals as they walked across the fiery path, showcasing their courage and determination to make a difference in the lives of others. Through their incredible efforts, a total of £1650 was raised for MK SNAP, making a significant impact in supporting adults with learning disabilities in the community.
The funds raised will be used to enhance the programs and services provided by MK SNAP, ensuring that adults with learning disabilities have access to essential resources, educational opportunities, and social integration initiatives.
While the Dragon’s Firewalk has come to an end, there is still an opportunity for individuals to contribute and support this worthy cause. Donations can be made through the official JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/page/afl-hyperscale-firewalk Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities.
The success of the MK SNAP Dragon’s Firewalk 2023 serves as a testament to the kindness, resilience, and generosity of the Milton Keynes community. By coming together and pushing their limits, participants and supporters have shown that they are willing to go above and beyond to create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
