AFL Hyperscale, the data center cabling and connectivity experts, will be presenting at the BICSI Virtual ICT Forum on February 11 from 12:00 to 16:00 GMT.
BICSI Virtual ICT Forums offer the opportunity to connect with ICT professionals both locally as well as from around the world all while earning continuing education credits (CECs).
The event will play host to a number of live-streamed technical presentations including a talk delivered by Aungwin Tin, Director of Sales, Global Accounts at AFL Hyperscale. Aungwin has been with AFL for over two decades, with prior positions in Quality Engineering, Applications Engineering, and Sales Management, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
The presentation will take place at 12:10 GMT and will discuss Managing the Explosion of Data Center Traffic at the Optical Physical Layer. Data centers are facing enormous growth in all segments of data traffic patterns: within a data center; data center to data center; and data center to the user. This presentation will address options that both Data Center Operators and Telecommunications Service Providers are exploring to address the various data traffic patterns.
In particular, promising break-through technologies at the optical physical layer will define a significantly larger foundation upon which to build the networking model all the way through to the applications layer.
At 12:40 GMT, Alistair Kerr, EMEA Hyperscale Programme Manager, will be giving an introduction to our ground-breaking SpiderWeb Ribbon® (SWR®), covering the origins, benefits, and applications of SWR technology.
With a Master’s Degree in Astrophysics, Alistair and has a technical and problem-solving background. Since joining AFL, Alistair has been engaged in multiple technical and management positions throughout including product management, FTTH design, business development, and innovation.
