Designed with data center interconnection and colocation data centers in mind, AFL Hyperscale’s H-Series solution was designed for a flexible approach to data center deployment, allowing you to get the most out of your space, regardless of the size.
The H-Series facilitates high fiber cable to low fiber cable applications and end-to-end data center deployments from the External Network Interface (ENI) to Local Distribution Point (LDP). This modular system enables you to scale your network to meet growing demand, and the shallow depth of the housing and cassettes allows for a versatile and flexible approach to network design.
Network Design Options
Key scenarios in which the H-series can be utilized include high-fiber deployments where connectivity areas have little or no rear access to a rack, frame, or cabinet, and high-fiber-count networks with shallow-depth 300mm racks or frames.
Thanks to the front loadable cassettes and top and bottom cable management, along with the shallow depth housing, the H-series can be deployed in a number of ways, depending on what space you have to work with and the fiber density you require for operation.
Back-to-Back
Racks can be placed back-to-back mid-row to double the fiber density in a tight space. Cable entry can be made from the left or right of the housing with cable management at the top for typically high fiber count cables and at the bottom for patch cord routing. Integrated cable management protects the bend radius of incoming and outgoing fibers to ensure optimum network performance.
Against Walls
To ensure enough walkway space, particularly in the customer cage, H-Series housings can be placed in shallow depth racks against a wall. With the front-loading cassettes still conveniently accessible, this is the perfect setup for quick installation and makes it easy to refresh or upgrade your network as and when needed in the future. In addition to freeing up valuable floor space, the integrated cable management also increases your rack space, allowing room to grow.
Stacked or Bayed
Placing the housings side-to-side or stacked one on top of the other is ideal in higher fiber count scenarios, especially when breaking down into lower fiber counts. With H-Series Splice Through Cassettes, there is the potential to distribute up to 1,152 ribbon fibers across 24 x 48 ribbon fiber splice cassettes, meaning installation times can be reduced by up to 75% when used in conjunction with Fujikura SpiderWeb Ribbon® (SWR®) fiber cable and mass-fusion splicer (in comparison to single fiber splicing).
The Benefits to the H-Series Approach
The option of front and rear cable management allows you endless flexibility when it comes to the layout of your network, but as well as saving you space, this also facilitates quick and easy installation. In addition to this, the components of the H-Series are very lightweight, making it easy for a small team or even one-man installation to implement this solution.
With the H-Series, you can deploy a high-performance network in any given space, no matter how large or small, ensuring you still have room to grow, and save on installation time and costs.
